  • International Symposium on Security Affairs
    As a part of our efforts to make our academic activities better appreciated, the symposium invites distinguished scholars for public discussion. The meeting is held annually.
  • International Forum on War History
    The NIDS International Forum on War History started in 2002 to reconsider military history from multilateral view by comparing it with the other nation’s military history. It has been traditionally analyzed from a one-sided point of view. The meeting is intended to deepen mutual understanding among the concerned countries and contribute to the promotion of trust among them.
  • The NIDS Colloquium on International Security
    The NIDS annually invites exparts for highly specialized and intensive discussion.
  • Others
    The National Institute for Defense Studies (NIDS) disseminates results of its research for the purposes of; contributing to enhancement of academic activities on security issues by being represented at numerous research seminars in the field; and contributing to mutual understanding and trust by encouraging discussion.
